Neglecting my blog

November 19th, 2009 No comments

I feel like I have been neglecting my blog, I have lots to say but I never seem to find the time to get the words from my brain and on to the hard disk. This may be because a lot of the things I want to say are a bit close to the edge. You know the sort of thing, telling people the truth about why their thing does not work. It’s not the thing its the person using it (well it is most of the time). I think it is time for me to stop keeping my opinion to myself and to start a bit more ranting. anyway that is enough for now I need to start upgrading this server, it’s so old i think Noah may still have an account on it.

Todays fortune cookie

So login to the office intranet today and get presented with the following:-

WARNING!!!
This machine is subject to breakdowns during periods of critical need.

A special circuit in the machine called “critical detector” senses the
operator’s emotional state in terms of how desperate he/she is to use the
machine. The “critical detector” then creates a malfunction proportional
to the desperation of the operator. Threatening the machine with violence
only aggravates the situation. Likewise, attempts to use another machine
may cause it to malfunction. They belong to the same union. Keep cool
and say nice things to the machine. Nothing else seems to work.

iLife 09 is here

ilifebox
I have a nice shiny iLife 09 install disk in my hands :)

It is nice that Apple have kept the packaging to a minimum would be nice if other software vendors did this, much better for the enviroment than the usual manual sized boxes that just have a CD/DVD rattling about in the bottom.

Anyway I want to go play with iPhoto and the 20 minute install is requiring a reboot before I can do that.
